We were delighted to include Skratch Fest in the Houston Hip Hop Festival. Scratching is one of hip-hop's four core elements. It is a technique for producing distinctive sounds that involves moving a vinyl record back and forth on a turntable while manipulating the crossfader on a DJ mixer. In other words, the turntable becomes a musical instrument.
